About Us
For 106 years now, the University of Holy Cross (UHC) has been a leader in higher education for Greater New Orleans. The only four-year university on the Westbank, the University of Holy Cross continually meets the needs of its community while welcoming partnerships with local businesses, healthcare providers, and educational institutions that benefit its students.
Founded and sponsored by the Marianites of Holy Cross, the University is a fully accredited Catholic university and is known for educating both the minds and hearts of students. Its most popular programs include Nursing, Counseling, Education, Business, Theology, Humanities, and Executive Leadership. Additionally, UHC is the only local school with bachelor’s degrees in Food Science and Neurodiagnostic Technology, programs that provide pathways to careers in the important areas of New Orleans’ cultural economy and in healthcare. According to President Stanton McNeely, the school is rapidly growing its online PhD programs in Executive Leadership and Counseling.
“The University is fully engaging the ‘next normal’ by expanding our delivery of education through online and ‘high-flex’ options that cater to working adults,” he says. Meanwhile, UHC continues to welcome traditional college students to live on campus in its new state-of-the-art Residence Hall.
Formerly known as Our Lady of Holy Cross College, UHC today offers an affordable, liberal arts education with more than 65 majors and programs.
