River Oaks Hospital Names New Chief Executive Officer
Harahan, LA – January 15, 2024 – River Oaks Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Josh Sumrall, MBA, BSN, RN, NEA-BC to Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director, effective this month. In this role, Josh will oversee administrative responsibilities and daily facility operations.
Josh comes to River Oaks Hospital with over two decades of valuable experience in the healthcare industry. His expertise spans a diverse range of specialties including behavioral health, acute care, case management and revenue cycle. This multifaceted experience has equipped Josh with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies within the healthcare landscape. Josh’s unwavering commitment to excellence, coupled with his compassionate approach, have earned him the respect of colleagues and stakeholders alike. Whether optimizing operational efficiency or implementing innovative healthcare solutions, Josh's contributions have consistently elevated the standards within the organizations he has served.
Most recently, he served as Assistant Vice President of Patient Services at East Jefferson General Hospital.

Josh earned his MBA with a specialization in healthcare from the University of Miami, and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSH) from Nicholls State University.

River Oaks Hospital, located minutes outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 126-bed psychiatric facility that has provided quality treatment to individuals suffering from mental illness and or addictive disorders since 1970. The New Orleans Institute provides specialized services for the treatment of trauma and compulsive behaviors.
